Bayside Coronavirus Task Force Meeting (Conference Call; 4 PM) The Bayside Coronavirus Task Force is a new ad-hoc committee appointed by the Board of Overseers to explore recommendations for use of Bayside communal/public spaces. The committee will not take any formal votes in this meeting. The public is welcomed to participate by joining the call at (605) 468-8801 and entering access code 904069#.

Fort Knox Park Day Clean-Up (Prospect) Join an Army of volunteers as part of the national annual Historic Park Clean-up Day organized by The American Battlefield Trust. Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Observatory open for the season, and they're looking for help with Spring Cleaning across the park grounds. Rain date is Sunday, April 26. Belfast Historical Society Program: Tourists Accommodated (Abbott Room, Belfast Free Library; 7 PM) A look at Route One "tourist traps" and lodging in Belfast and Searsport. As cars became more popular in the early 20th century and roadways became easily travelled, the tourist industry boomed on Route One. Motor courts, precursors to motels, popped up between Belfast and Searsport and Perry's Nut House became a popular destination. Ray Seamans, Historian. Nordic Aquafarms Information

A Norwegian aquafarm company is planning a $150 million salmon farm on 40 acres in Belfast at Little River. The expected annual production capacity of the fully-built facility will equal roughly 8% of total U.S. salmon consumption. The project, which is expected to create 60 jobs, has raised concerns about the amount of potable water to be drawn from the Belfast Water District (1.7 million gallons/day) and the discharges to be made into the Penobscot Bay.
